Rotherham Finances PDF Print E-mail
Since going into the CVA which cleared the club debts the club have managed to save over a million pounds, Speaking to today's Rotherham Advertiser, Millers Chairman Denis Coleman gave an insight into how the club is fairing financially since nearly going into extinction.

"We have made £1.2 million in the last six months through cost savings and income increases. Considering the club lost £1.8 million in the last financial year, we are making massive strides. And remember that we had next to no money coming in at all over the summer.

"We have slashed about £700,000 off the wage bill and cut costs in many other areas while exploring ways of bringing extra money in. We've refurbished the Rotherham United Suite and now have a matchday marquee capable of holding 300 people. We're working hard to increase sponsorship and commercial revenue.

"We expect losses for the next financial year end to be below £1 million. Twelve months after that, we want to be at break-even point."

Millers Delight PDF Print E-mail
After starting the season on -10 points, not many people thought that Rotherham stood any chance of surviving this season and TV pundits still just look at the league table, see that we are in the bottom 3, and predict that we'll lose.

But we're not yet in November and Rotherham find themselves 5th bottom, and if it hadn't been for that -10 we'd actually be in a very, very healthy 5th place in the league. October has proved to be a magnifcent month for the Millers who have won every league game.

Port Vale (away) won 3:1
Brentford (home) won 2-0
Bournemouth (away) won 3:1
Crewe (home) won 5:1

It's not only been the fact that we've won these games but it's the style in which we have won them, absolutely tearing teams to pieces.

If Alan Knill doesn't receive the League 1 manager of the month award for October, i for one will be amazed.

There's now talk of The Millers making the play-offs, but it's a long hard season and a lot can happen. Teams will have good runs (October for us) but they will also have a run of 1/2 dozen games where they can't buy a win. We're flying at the moment and need to take advantage by racking up another 3/4 wins to cover the bad patch, which will surely come. I'm also looking with trepidation at the looming January transfer window. Can we keep this squad of players together for the duration ?

One thing that's in our favour is goal difference, which is worth another point. Because we've won more games than the points total shows, we've got a much better goal difference than the teams who have the same points total.
